11point2 and BuildMo formalise a partnership to take Australia’s hardest problems from concept to real-world capability at speed across defence, energy, natural resources, and research.

ADELAIDE, AUSTRALIA, JUNE 2026.

Australia is entering a decade of increasingly complex problems that get harder, faster, and more interconnected: defence capability and mobilisation, energy transition, decommissioning at scale, and research that must leave the lab.

Solving them requires more than new tools. It demands a fundamental shift in how organisations think and operate that most institutions are not currently structured to achieve.

11point2 and United States technology firm BuildMo have formalised a partnership built on a simple belief: that Australia’s hardest challenges will be solved not by better plans, but by a different operational mindset.

The partnership operates through an integrated, technology-enabled delivery model that embeds engineers, operators and entrepreneurs inside client organisations to accelerate the journey from problem definition to operational capability.

Its first active application is in Australian defence and national security, with parallel initiatives already underway across natural resources, energy and university research.

Major national directives, including the National Defence Strategy, AUKUS Pillar 2, the Sovereign Defence Industrial Priorities and the Australian Capability Investment Fund, mandate Australian organisations to design, build and operate sovereign capabilities.

This partnership is built to deliver the operational answer to that mandate.

True sovereign capability is downstream of sovereign thinking.

Initial efforts are focused on four sectors where sovereign capability is becoming a national priority:

• Defence and national security. Accelerating the design, testing and operation of mission-critical capabilities.
• Natural resources. Solving technical, operational and transition challenges in complex industrial environments.
• Universities and research institutions. Turning research outcomes into practical technologies and commercial ventures.
• The Indo-Pacific. Partnering with allied organisations pursuing parallel capability-building agendas.
